Homeschool podcasts have proved so helpful to me! As a homeschool mom of 3, I often find it hard to make time to sit with a book other than my quiet time in the morning. So, podcasts can easily fit into the schedule while making meals, washing dishes, or on the car drives to after school activities.
There are two different lists: First, podcasts for us homeschool moms that provide encouragement and ideas. The second list is full of podcasts we play in the car for our children.
I know you will find something – whether you’re looking for something edifying or just for wholesome educational entertainment for the kids. Let’s get into it!
This post is all about homeschool podcasts full of insight and encouragement for moms, and educational fun for kids.

Homeschool Podcasts: For Moms
Here are my top 5 current podcasts I’ve been playing when I’m on the go. They all have a Charlotte Mason style lean, but any mom can be encouraged and blessed by what is shared.
1. Simply Charlotte Mason
The Simply Charlotte Mason podcast is hosted by Sonya Schafer, the creator of the Simply Charlotte Mason curriculum. We have used many of their products over the years including their Enrichment Studies, Artist Study Portfolios, Business Math, and History, Geography, and Bible. Sonya is so thoughtful in giving insightful wisdom of how to make the Charlotte Mason style simple to implement. Whether you are new or just interested in a CM education, or experienced, I highly recommed this one.
2. The Charlotte Mason Show
This one is co-hosted by two of my favorite curriculum creators Julie Ross of A Gentle Feast and Jeannie Fulbright from Apologia. Great information on their own, and then they bring in other experienced homeschool moms as guests to share as well. Check out The Charlotte Mason Show!

3. Wild + Free
Hosted by the peaceful voice of Ainsley Arment, any episode of the Wild + Free podcast can transform my discouraged heart. The encouragement is always there towards the gift of the mother role, and the curious child. Words are nurturing, forgiving, and healing.
4. At Home with Sally
Renowned author Sally Clarkson has written so many books that homeschool moms love, her podcast does not disappoint. This is one of my favorites of her books. Listening feels like you’re sitting with your mentor at her intimate dining table having a cup of tea. Sally’s experience in intentional motherhood is hard to find.
5. Risen Motherhood
The Risen Motherhood Ministry is known for pointing moms to God. Biblical based wisdom on many practical topics that mothers face such as building and maintaining habits of prayer, scripture memory, and challenges of a working mother. Laura Wifler and Emily Jensen host the Risen Motherhood podcast.
Homeschool Podcasts: For Children
My husband actually found these podcasts for our children for some of our car ride drives. He is so generous and allows them listening privileges while he drives.
1. Smash Boom Best
Smash Boom Best is probably our favorite one here! It is an educational podcast that presents fun facts about different topics, but often the topics are entertaining and silly. It demonstrates how to provide support for arguments and how to use logic in debates. I’m surprised how much information my children retain from this one.
2. The Big Fib
My husband enjoys The Big Fib with the kids because it is hilarious! Each episode usually covers one topic like spiders, for example. They bring in an expert and a liar. A kid is selected to act as the judge, and they try to figure out which is the expert, and which is the liar. It is educational, but I would say sometimes it is hard to remember what is factual, and what is a lie since you don’t find out the answer until the end. Our kids are engaged because they trying to solve the mystery.
3. Earth Rangers
The Earth Rangers podcast episdoes share an entertaining lesson on a specific animal or other nature topic. They have little games throughout the episode such as, “What’s that sound?” The host also interviews specialists on each topic.
4. Family Road Trip Trivia
These episdoes of the Family Road Trip Trivia Podcast seem geared toward older children. My older elementary and middle schooler are into it. Some of the topics can be a bit difficult, so we skip to the episode topics that sound their speed.
5. Stories Podcast
The Stories Podcast is designed for younger kids, maybe 3 to 7 years old. My husband thinks the stories are okay, but my youngest daughter asks for this one mostly.
Education Everywhere
As homeschoolers, education is so fluid and flexible. It truly is a lifeschool experience that helps us homeschool moms relax a bit when it comes to measuring academic success. Not every moment needs to be or should be a formal lesson. However, incorporating these types of unofficial and lighthearted education masked as entertainment adds up.
This post was all about inspirational podcasts for homeschool moms, and educational yet entertaining podcasts for their children.
